BLOG: A Giant Came Out of a Door in the Mountain - Is the Oregon Giant Story True?
Whether or not real giants of biblical proportions are still roaming the modern world has always been a fascinating subject to us — but the questions are many, and the answers are as elusive as the giants themselves. So — since the Smithsonian won’t return our calls — we’re left to ponder snippets of stories from the far reaches of the internet and chase down recorded eyewitness sightings before they disappear (…the recordings and the eyewitnesses).
The latest giant mystery comes courtesy of TikToker RB Dcell, who in late October posted an intriguing clip: in the video, RB Dcell stands next to a roadway in Oregon with a mountain slope in the background and describes witnessing a piece of that mountain standing open like a door. According to his story, something seemed to look out at him from the opening, right before the mountain door closed.
Although the actual bizarre event— and the alleged being inside, which RB Dcell believes was a giant — was not captured on film, the clip of Tiktoker’s story swiftly went viral, racking up over 4.4 million views. He created more videos to supplement his original encounter story, which included the ominous news that, after returning to the site, he had been trailed by several white government vehicles. Following a brief update or two to his channel, RB Dcell and some of his giant-related videos — including the original video and a clip that described being followed — abruptly went MIA.
Followers became quickly concerned about RB Dcell’s whereabouts, particularly because his whole experience eerily mirrored the account of another TikToker named Andrew Dawson.
In April 2022, Andrew posted a viral video of his own which appeared to show a giant humanoid traversing Whistlers Peak Mountain in Canada. The clip drew a lot of attention, and not all of it was wanted. Andrew went on to release additional videos of himself trying to investigate the mountain site, but eventually found himself both thwarted and surveilled by unknown persons. After going MIA on TikTok for a considerable time, it eventually came to light that Andrew had died, three months after his viral giant video took the internet by storm. Although details about Andrew Dawson’s death have not been released, many in the paranormal and conspiracy communities believe it was related to his giant videos. RB Dcell’s followers feared that he had met the same fate.

Fortunately for RB Dcell, he is currently still alive and well. Weeks after his posting his original viral video, the TikToker returned to the platform with new videos, this time detailing a continued investigation of the mountain door site. He has returned to the area several times, and other curious explorers have also joined in the hunt for the mountain giant, one of whom even discovered a system of caves on the other side of the site. It also seems that government vehicles continue to make an appearance as RB Dcell pursues his explorations.
Could a giant really be living inside a mountain in Oregon? While the general public may look at giants as nothing more than fairy tale characters, the denizens of the fringe world believe otherwise — and the giant stories of RB Dcell and Andrew Dawson are not the only ones. American cave systems too have had their fair share of speculation over their potential use as passageways for giants, government agents, Bigfoot, and more to travel underground from point to point. Lovelock Cave in Nevada is the site of a Paiute legend about a massacre of giants living within the cave. Mammoth Cave in Kentucky extends its passageways at least 400 miles, making it the longest known cave system in the world, with new passages found regularly. And there is always the theory that suggests that Bigfoot or some other entity may be responsible for a number of disappearances in national parks and wilderness areas, possibly using underground caves or other hidden passages to travel undetected. With over 45,000 caves in the United States alone, there is virtually no limit to underground systems and passages, and no way to know to what subterranean realms they all may lead… maybe straight into Hollow Earth itself.
For now, we on the fringe can only theorize about the big questions: whether giants still exist, whether they use caves to travel, and whether the government is aware — and covering up — their existence.
In the meantime, we hope RB Dcell remains alive and well to share the results of his ongoing giant investigation in Oregon.
