READ: Little Girl Tells Parents She Has Monsters in Her Room - They Find Something Very Real
Ashley Massis Class's tale of her daughter's monster "fears led to a startling discovery that reminds us never to dismiss a child's “vivid imagination” too quickly.
The saga, shared by Ashley on TikTok under her handle @classashley, began innocuously enough with her eldest child began insisting there were monsters in her room. Initially, Ashley and her husband chalked up these fears to the influence of movies like Monster's Inc. and perhaps the disorientation of a recent family addition.
However, the narrative took another turn when the presence of the supposed monsters manifested as night terrors for the little girl. The parents decided to investigate, suspecting perhaps an animal intruder had found its way in to their century-old farmhouse.
A call to pest control led to the shocking discovery that the "monsters" the little girl experienced were in fact a colony of 50,000 honeybees living in a massive hive in the walls.
A thermal camera was used to locate the real reason behind the little girl’s fears, and the ordeal of removing the bees was both extensive and expensive. The family faced considerable disruptions and damage, including honey-soaked walls and electrical hazards, with repair costs soaring. The beekeeper managed to relocate the hive, including the queen, to a sanctuary, marking a somewhat happy ending to what started as a nightly horror for a young child.
This bizarre incident highlights the importance of investigating a child’s fears, no matter how fanciful they may seem. Sometimes, the monsters are real things, and discovering them can lead to necessary (albeit costly) resolutions!
