The following written confession was submitted via email: This is a memory that has been with me for so long that I’m not sure if it is real or a dream. The facts that I do know align with this being a true story. I was unaware of the phenomena of “hatman” until somewhat recently when I went back to school and had to take a creative writing class. I wrote about this memory, and one of the people in class brought up “hatman.” I didn’t know so many other people had experiences similar to mine, so many that he has a name….

The following written confession was submitted via email: I wanted to share with you an experience my older brother and I had back in the late 90's, I believe it was August of 1998 and I was 22, my brother was 37 at the time. We used to do our annual camping trip to the Florida Keys every summer back when I still lived in Florida . . . we always set up in the "Green tent area" as far away from other campers as possible in a wooded area not far from the beach . . .

My husband has told me stories of paranormal stuff that happened in his childhood home his whole life. I didn’t really think anything of it until this particular stay. The event took place on 16-17 April 2011, we were kicking off the 150th anniversary year of the Civil War by recreating the attack on fort Sumter. It was a miserable wet cold rainy weekend…

The following written confession was submitted via email: In 1995/1996, my sister (whom I will keep anonymous) was diagnosed and eventually passed away from stomach/esophageal cancer. She was 39, with 4 young kids. In the last couple weeks before her death, she would talk frankly with all of us (there were 6 sisters in all), about her immanent death. Her fears, our fears, her heartache, etc. On one of these occasions, she states “I’m ready to die, I’m just scared I’m going to see that black thing again …”

The following written confession was shared online: My husband and I stayed at a super old hotel in Santa Fe, NM. At the time I did not really believe in paranormal things/ghosts, mainly because nothing had ever happened to me. The old room we were staying in had this decorative wooden chair that had a slanted seat… the slanted seat made it so my bag slid all the way back into the back of the chair so it couldn’t fall. I also hung a nice new dress on the back of the chair….
