Written Confession: Teen Home Alone Hears an Unknown Creature Screaming and Slamming On the Door

The following written confession was shared via Reddit by micahrocky:

This still gives me the chills whenever I think about it, but I thought I should share my story with you guys.

When I was 14 (a couple years ago), I was home alone in my living room, playing Halo 3. I was just chilling when I heard lots of leaves rustle outside.

I live in a pretty secluded forest, and my closest neibour [sic] was roughly a mile away. My parents had gone to run errands and were about 30 minutes away.

The time of year was in the beginning stages of fall, so all of the leaves had started to drop. It wasn't windy outside, so I didn't expect any leaves to rustle as violently as they did.

I thought a large animal might be moving around, and that was pretty normal, so I didn't care. That was until the rustling came right up to my front door, which was right behind the couch I was sitting on.

I was a little confused, and I sat there for a little in silence. Then it happened. Huge, loud, ground shaking slams landed on my door. I thought someone might be breaking in.

It is very, very hard to describe the amount of fear that entered my body the moment the thought that I would be robbed came into my mind.

I couldn't move, I was petrified in fear. But after about 3 slams, surprisingly, the banging stopped. I was just staying still, running scenarios through my head of what that could have been.

I gently picked my controller back up and started playing Xbox again, all the while being terrified. I started to hear leaves again, near the back of the house, where my kitchen was.

There was a sound of tapping on the window above my kitchen sink, and then a few loud slams again. This was terrifying enough, except this time, there were extremely loud, primal screams.

Whatever this was, it was circling my house. I grabbed a multi-tool knife from a drawer, and ran as fast as I could upstairs into my parent's bedroom and under their bed.

I waited there for about half an hour and my parents finally arrived home. I (practically in tears) told them about what happened and they brushed it off as some sort of large animal.

I still don't know what that was and this experience never happened to me again in the remaining years we lived in that house.

Anyway, thanks for reading about the time a random scary think [sic] interrupted my Halo 2 death match. Have a good day!
