Written Confession: Does Eerie Door Cam Footage Reveal a Paranormal Entity or a Creepy Phrogger?
The following written confession was shared via Reddit by lawyergrrrl5:
For about the past year, my boyfriend and I have noticed some really strange things happening at his house. We are both logical, analytical people who are not in touch with the paranormal or metaphysical world, but we have been unable to determine a reasonable explanation for what has occurred.
It began on the evening of 8/13/2020. He and I were lying in bed, and a floor fan was running. We heard sounds coming from the kitchen, and the noise was loud enough that we both heard it over the fan. I asked if the sound was the dryer (located in the kitchen area near the entrance). He said that the dryer wasn't running, and I was concerned that someone might have gotten into the house because I didn't lock the door when I came in. We got up to investigate, but there was no person or animal in the house. The dryer was not running. We were not able to figure out what had caused the noise, but went back to bed.
Less than an hour later, we heard what I thought sounded like footsteps in the bonus room upstairs. We went upstairs to investigate, but again, were unable to determine the cause of the noise. We both felt very uneasy while we were upstairs, and the feeling of uneasiness lasted throughout the night and into the next day.
I went back to his house again a couple of days later. To me, the house felt okay until I got near the door to the staircase leading to the bonus room. When he opened the door to the stairs, I immediately got a bad feeling. We went upstairs to look around again, but did not see anything unusual. After we went back into the kitchen, I still had an uncomfortable, uneasy feeling. I didn't know the door to the stairs had been left open, but I could "feel" that it was open and needed to close it immediately. I felt somewhat better after I closed the door, but still unsettled.
We left an iPhone voice memo app open in the bonus room that night to see if it picked up anything of significance. At points, we could hear distinct tapping and do not know what could have caused those sounds.
The following night after I left and throughout the next day, he said that the house felt “dead” and got a bad feeling near and on the staircase and upstairs. He has lived in the house for more than 10 years and never experienced anything like that.
Over the past 10 months, the unsettling feeling has come and gone. There have continued to be noises and objects out of place, and we haven’t been able to find a readily apparent explanation for these incidents or the weird feeling we get at times.
Early in the morning on Monday (6/14/2021), a container on his porch was knocked over, an object from inside his house somehow ended up in the yard outside, and some other things were moved and/or destroyed. He doesn’t have a security camera, but the next-door neighbor does. Attached are screenshots from between around 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. taken from the security video by his neighbor. We haven’t seen the actual video yet, but the neighbor says that this figure came from my boyfriend’s yard.
The figure appears to be very small. For perspective, the gate it is standing beside is only about 3 feet tall. If it were not for the size, generally creepy appearance, and all the other strange things that have happened over the past several months, I would assume it’s just a random person wandering around causing trouble.
Any thoughts on what this could be? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
